Dennis Boakye
I am Dennis Boakye (Den), currently a senior studying neuroscience as my major and Mathematics as my minor. My interests are to learn more about memory formation and maintenance. I am mostly interested in the composition (chemical or electrical) of memory and how traces of memory information (engrams) are established and contribute to memory recall and dissociation. I am to pursue an MD/PhD in neuroscience with a focus in memory and cognition research. I play the drums for fun and enjoy watching anime sometimes, and recently (summer 2024) rekindled my interest in video gaming.
Yifei (Kaylee) Wu
I’m a senior student currently pursuing a B.A. in Psychology and Neuroscience, with a minor in Data Science. I am interested in cognitive control, working memory, and the neural and behavioral mechanisms underlying mindfulness. I’m drawn to how these processes shape human cognition and behavior. After graduation, I plan to pursue a graduate degree in cognitive neuroscience or psychology. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and watching shows.
Jake Watkins
Hi everyone! I’m a pre-med student at Lawrence University and a pitcher for our Vikings baseball team. Over the course of my journey here, I’ve developed a deep passion for cognitive neuroscience and am excited to dive into the world of research. I’ve been fortunate to join the Vision, Memory, and Cognition Lab under Dr. Teng, and I look forward to collaborating with many of you—whether in class, in the lab, or beyond!
A few fun facts about me: I love fishing, playing sports, and I’m a proud member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity here on campus.
Lab Mascot - Shiro
With a gaze sharp enough to disrupt your working memory, Shiro brings a perfect mix of calm, curiosity, and just the right amount of chaos.
Her special skills include expertly knocking pens off desks, modeling textbook resting-state behavior, and occasionally typing encrypted cat-code on the keyboards. She approaches her mascot duties with great dedication—unless a crinkly toy or snack happens to cross her path.
